Building a successful enterprise

It is one thing to build an enterprise; it is another thing to build a successful enterprise.
Firstly, what is an enterprise? My dictionary defined enterprise as something that is attended or undertaken especially if it requires boldness or courage. It can also mean a business or willingness to try new lines of action. All these definitions points out that determination and boldness or courage are necessary requirements to building an enterprise.
We are looking at not just building an enterprise but building a successful one. To do this, some steps are to be taken, but we will be looking at only three which are found in The Living Bible paraphrase of Proverbs 24:3-4.
1. Wise Planning: A saying goes that if you fail to plan, you plan to fail. So not just planning but a wise planning is necessary to build a successful an enterprise. This will imply counting the cost of what you are engaging in to know if you are able to actualize it, remember Jesus mentioned of a person that wants to build a house that he will first count the cost to know if he has enough to finish it or else he will be made a laughing stock. Counting the cost is not only money, but also the time, strength and other resources like skill of what you are venturing into(do I have it?, if not, I have to acquire it from experience hands), am I willing to sacrifice all that is required to make it successful and many other things. This is the first step to building an enterprise.
2. Common Sense (Wisdom): You need to apply wisdom in everything you do. Don’t just act foolishly. Wisdom is the application of knowledge. Proverbs 4:7 says that we should acquire wisdom even if it cost us everything. Here you all apply all the knowledge you acquired in the first step, putting all that you have learnt into practice, trying things out, possibly trying new systems or ways of doing things. This will make the enterprise strong.
3. Keeping abreast of the facts: Improvements are made on things on regular basis, so you have to be up to date to know the current developments and trends related to your enterprise. You learn new strategies etc. Internet has brought the world together, so avail yourself of the resources available, there may also be a need to humble yourself and learn even from those younger than you, no man is an island. Knowledge is power, and as you acquire it, apply it, your enterprise will become profitable.
I believe these three steps have given you confidence to step out of your comfort zone. As you believe in God and get to work. Success will be yours.
