Some people do make some mistakes as they grow in life,and those mistakes if not taken care of will hinder your progress in life.
Without wasting time lets look at some of them.
1 Keep Longing for yesterday:Some people do always expect the way things happen yesterday to be the same with today,remember what the bible says that it is not wise to ask why were the old days better than these.(Ecc 7:10).And God instructed usthrough prophet Isaiah by saying that we should forget the former things,do not dwell in the past that He is doing a new thing.
What i am saying is that whatever that has happened is past,do not dwell on them,if there is something you need to learn from it,learn and move on with the future,because your tomorow will be better than your yesterday.
2 Longing for some future destination: Do not think that when you get to a particular level in life that it is when you will derive the type of happiness you want. No ! Your happiness and satisfaction should be on a daily basis.
The bible says this is the day the Lord has made;let us rejoice and be glad in it.(Ps 118:11)
Each day that comes you ought to achieve something and at the end of that day you sit back and rejoice because of the achievement of that day.Take proper analysis of your daily activities,if there is anything you are doing that will cause you to feel that you have wasted that day,turn from it,because God wants you to rejoice for each day that He has made.
3.Thinking that your abilities are limited: Do not limit yourself,the bible says that i can all things through Christ who gives me strenght.God has endowed you abilities to achieve a lot,do not limit Him,because His supply abilities and strenght is not limited by His power but by the extent you are willing to go.
A story was told of some students who have been studying and preparing very hard for a semester exam,but to their suprise,on the day of the exam,the lecturer entered and told begin by saying,i know how hard you have been preparing for this exam,and because of that,i am willing to offer a ‘B’to anyone who will skip writing this exam,many were happy and accepted the offer,he now handed the question paper to the few that insisted on writing the exam,and when they opened it,the message reads: Congratulations,you have just recieved an ‘A’ in this course,keep believing in your self. From this story you can learn that it is not good to settle for a ‘B’ when God has given you all it takes to have an ‘A’.You can do all things through God.
Correct these mistakes today,and you will see chaanges.
